World Youth Skills Day

16 July 2024

World Youth Skills Day on 15 July 2024 celebrated the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship.

At Derbyshire County Council, we're committed to building a talented workforce for the future through our graduate development programme, placements, work experience and apprenticeships.

Our apprenticeship vacancies are advertised throughout the year on our jobs site so if you know someone who might be interested in joining us, please encourage them to keep checking the site.

For anyone who wants to know more about what being an apprentice is like, you can read a variety of case studies.

Our work experience opportunities are a valuable way of giving a realistic insight into the world of work, supporting people's aspirations and achievements, developing their self-confidence, and influencing their plans for the future. We offer placements in a range of areas and are always keen to hear from managers who are able to provide these opportunities. If you would like to know more about what offering a placement involves or join our database of contacts, please email businesssupport.hr@derbyshire.gov.uk
