It's important to gather insightful feedback and involve the community in our decision-making processes. That's why we've developed a new Consultation Strategic Framework and Consultation Toolkit. These aim to guide you through every step of the consultation process and ensure best practices are followed.
If you're planning a consultation, contact your departmental lead and legal department at the very beginning of any planned consultation to make sure robust processes are developed for meaningful engagement, and help with planning and timescales.
Consultation tracker
Create a record of any consultations you are planning in the consultation tracker.

It's important that you keep the record up-to-date during the course of developing and delivering the consultation. This will make the consultation process more efficient, help colleagues plan and deliver consultations, making sure they're well-managed and effective, and provide clear oversight of all consultation activity throughout the council.
