Investments

We are the administering authority for the Derbyshire Pension Fund and consequently are responsible for the investment of its assets.

The Derbyshire Pension Fund’s Statement of Investment Principles has been drawn up in compliance with the Local Government Pension Scheme (Management and Investment of Funds) (Amendment) Regulations 1999. It describes the broad principles adopted by our Investment Committee in carrying out its duties and how it complies with best practice (Myners' Principles).

The Investment Committee's Annual Business Plan includes:

  • the committee's powers and responsibilities
  • regulations
  • committee membership
  • statement of investment principles
  • other policy statements
  • investment committee objective
  • targets
  • performance measurement
  • schedule of meetings
  • work programme
  • training programme
  • investment advisers
  • investment managers
  • legal adviser
  • other contracts
  • membership of other organisations
  • audit
  • projected cash flow

The committee's annual report provides background information relating to investment markets in the previous year, extracts form the fund's accounts and its performance details over the longer term.

The Funding Strategy Statement looks at the Pension Fund's liabilities and how these are to be met over the longer term.
