Environmental mini guides

We recognise our ongoing obligation to reduce our environmental footprint to contribute toward protecting the natural environment, sustainable socio-economic development in the county and within the council.

As energy and landfill costs rise we need to reduce the amount of resources we use as well as recycle more so that we can continue to fund quality service provision rather than paying for wasted resources.

There are many actions we can take to reduce our environmental impact and these may vary between individual services. However, each service produces waste, consumes water and emits carbon dioxide so it's down to everyone to do their bit to help us reduce our environmental footprint.

These environmental mini guides outline key themes such as climate change, adaptation, and resource efficiency as well as how they relate to the council.

The guides also suggest ways we can act corporately, with partner organisation and as individuals to reduce our environmental impact.
