Access changes at County Hall

We’ve been operating a signing in and out procedure at County Hall for a few weeks now and we’re making some changes to the process based on feedback from staff.

The following measures have now been put in place:

  • at the main entrance from Smedley Street we are using temporary barriers and marking every two metres to ensure social distancing measures can be followed
  • when reception is open (8am to 4pm) the reception staff will sign people in and out – just give them your name and room number when you arrive and, just as importantly, when you leave
  • before 8am and after 4pm the Commissionaires will sign you in and out from the Commissionaires’ office
  • more signage will be displayed and hand gel will be available at entry/exit points to sanitise your hands

Although there are currently far fewer staff working from County Hall, the building remains open to visitors and reception staff are still at work.

Visitors will need to sign in and out of the building in the same way as staff are currently doing so that we meet our fire safety and evacuation requirements. These procedures also allow staff, members and visitors to follow social distancing measures.

Please ensure that any visitors you receive follow this process at all times.
