Coronavirus employee update for Thursday 16 April 2020.

COVID-19 testing programme

We've been given the opportunity to participate in the National Testing Programme for COVID-19. These tests will only be available to those who are self-isolating as a result of coronavirus symptoms and even then, not all employees will be eligible.

If you need to self-isolate in line with the latest government guidance, please make sure you report it to your manager. Your manager will record you as self-isolating on our electronic systems and you may then be contacted by a member of the HR team to discuss the testing programme.

Depending on whether or not you meet the criteria, you may be asked to take part in voluntary testing which will involve travelling to one of the testing sites in either Derby or Chesterfield.

This testing will help partner agencies to understand the spread of COVID-19 and avoid you having to self-isolate unnecessarily.

Further PPE guidance

More detailed guidance on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is now available.

In addition to confirming the appropriate PPE for different roles, the guidance now includes advice about putting on and taking off PPE.

If you have any questions about PPE for your role, please speak to your line manager.

Pension update

Derbyshire Pension Fund has published a series of frequently asked questions about the impact of coronavirus on the Local Government Pension Scheme.
