Wellbeing champions

Workplace wellbeing is known to have a positive impact on happiness, engagement recruitment and productivity.

Wellbeing champion - expression of interest form

Improving the wellbeing of employees will improve the wellbeing of their families and the wider communities we serve.

We have over 50 wellbeing champions from different departments who:

  • support the delivery of our wellbeing framework and initiatives
  • cascade wellbeing messages, including details about support and events
  • keep colleagues up to date with wellbeing initiatives and opportunities
  • utilise any wellbeing qualifications, skills and interests (for example, fitness instructor, walk leader, massage therapy) to support colleagues
  • improve access to services and information within their Department and championing wellbeing on behalf of colleagues
  • attend and contribute to monthly 'wellbeing champion' network meetings to help us shape the wellbeing agenda for wellbeing
  • advocate, modelling and promoting wellbeing practice in their workplace

The wellbeing champions have access to:

  • a dedicated wellbeing champions Teams site to network with other wellbeing champions.
  • lots of resources to signpost you and your colleagues to help with wellbeing.
  • a monthly topic presentation and general update on developments via Teams meeting that is recorded if you can’t make it on the day
  • ability to book Joined Up Care Derbyshire individual and group support at your workplace or via MS Teams

If you don’t know who your local wellbeing champion is or would like to get in touch with your local wellbeing champion for information, please email healthandsafety.enquiries@derbyshire.gov.uk and someone will put you in touch.

If you are aware that there is no wellbeing champion within your area and you think that this role is for you, please discuss this with your line manager in the first instance to gain their support and then complete the expression of interest application on this page.
