Job evaluation service level agreement

The purpose of this service level agreement (SLA) is to describe the key services provided and the quality standards we have agreed in terms of service delivery.

Requests and timescales

An initial review of fully completed information submitted to the job evaluation inbox will take place within 5 working days.

The Pay and Reward team will confirm will the HR Business Partner whether additional information is required and schedule a time with the recruiting manager to obtain this information, therefore managers will need to be available for discussion following submission of the information.

The Pay and Reward team will advise on the timescales for the evaluation process which will vary depending on the number of roles in scope and the type of review and evaluation required.

If the jobs are to be sent to a joint Trade Union panel fully completed JPP, Job Evaluation Request Form  and current and proposed organisation charts will be sent to the join trade union panel as follows:

  • 7 days in advance of the panel for 4 jobs or less
  • 10 days in advance of the panel for 5 jobs or more

Jobs that require joint job evaluation panel review may include:

  • new jobs that don’t already exist
  • job changes proposed as part of a review
  • jobs whose changes have cross department impacts

The information required is outlined on the job evaluation process flow included on the job evaluation page and includes:

  • Completed sections 1,2 and 3 of a  job evaluation request form
  • Current and proposed organisation charts
  • job and person specification

Planning for job evaluation

In all cases, HR Business Partners are encouraged to discuss proposed submissions with the Pay and Reward team as soon as possible so that support can be provided and to agree the approach and likely timescales.

Joint trade union panels are scheduled bi-weekly. Dates will be discussed with the HR Business Partner  once it is agreed a job is required to go to a joint trade union panel. Following discussion, additional panels may be convened if required.
