Our values
We have 4 values that describe who we are and what we stand for at Derbyshire County Council.
- collaborative - we listen and engage to deliver shared goals
- innovative - we are curious, embrace change and continuously improve
- empowered - we support, trust and value each other
- accountable - we hold ourselves and others to account
These 8 behaviours are the ways in which wedemonstrate our values. The framework sets out what we expect in terms of how we go about our work, while our goals describe what we do.
Our 8 behaviours are:
- Communicate and influence
- Collaborate and partner
- Change and Improve
- Make effective decisions
- Develop ourselves
- Develop our teams
- See the bigger picture
- Customer and outcome focused
We have 2 frameworks to support grade 14+ senior leaders and grade 13 and below leaders. Each behaviour has guidance indicators for ‘below’, ‘meets’ and ‘exceeds’ expectations, to support performance management and development conversations.
A behaviour framework aligned to non-line manager PDR users is currently being developed.
For further resources and support access the SharePoint PDR Hub.
Some individuals are members of professional bodies and therefore have professional competencies they must adhere to. In many cases, they must demonstrate they meet the requirements annually.
Professional competency frameworks are about demonstrating technical competence, whereas the behaviour framework focuses on our behaviours. Use elements of both, where appropriate, when completing your PDR.
