Adult care practice bulletins

Adult care practice bulletins are a weekly source of important operational information for all adult care staff. The bulletins cover areas of best practice, policy and procedure changes, legislative issues, and details of documents which have been decommissioned due to no longer being relevant or useful to staff.

Documents are grouped under the following 3 main headings.

All

Documents relevant to adult social care, direct care, and business service staff. For example, this section contains information relating to complaints, human resources, and dignity and respect. For information about keeping adults safe please see safeguarding.

Direct care

Relates to services where we provide direct care or support to people through a variety of services. For example, we deliver home care, residential care and day opportunities including day services.

Adult social care

Involves the assessment of a person's needs under the Care Act 2014, commissioning services, professional support and investigating safeguarding. For example, it may involve:

  • putting together a reablement package for someone following a stay in hospital
  • providing support to carers
  • assisting with equipment or aids to promote independence

This section contains information relating to eligibility, assessment, hospital discharge, co-funding, and direct payments.

The Whistleblowing Confidential Reporting Code is intended to enable individuals or organisations to disclose information about malpractice internally. And to provide them with protection from subsequent victimisation, discrimination or disadvantage.
