Employee assistance programme

As part of an ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing, we offer all employees free access to emotional and practical support through an employee assistance programme.


An employee assistance programme is a confidential employee benefit designed to help you deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting your home life, work life, health and general wellbeing.

The employee assistance programme provides a complete support network that offers expert advice and compassionate guidance 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, covering a wide range of issues.

Balancing everyday life with the requirements of work and home can create pressures for all of us, but our employee assistance programme is here to help you achieve the right balance.

24-hour, 7-day confidential helpline

The Health Assured counsellors and advisors are on-hand 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days a year tel: 0800 756 0834.

They can be called at any time for friendly support on medical, legal and financial issues in the strictest confidence.

When you phone the helpline, you'll need to confirm that you work for us. On some occasions you may be asked for a second verification, if this happens then please reference Reward Gateway (through Our Derbyshire Rewards provider).

The helpline can provide immediate telephone support including, but not limited to:

  • work related issues including management, stress, workplace, relationships, bullying and harassment
  • anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, anger management
  • family, marital and relationship issues
  • substance and alcohol misuse or dependency
  • bereavement
  • domestic abuse
  • health and critical illness
  • lifestyle, exercise, diet and general wellbeing
  • personal legal information
  • medical information (available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm)
  • telephone advice relating to critical incidents
  • management support

Counselling support

You can arrange up to 6 structured telephone counselling sessions, per issue, per year for yourself, your partner or spouse or dependants (between the ages of 16 and 24 in full time education). These are delivered via phone or secure online chat.

The counselling service is available in addition to our in-house counselling service.

Legal information

Legal information is available via the confidential helpline 24 hours a day, providing immediate, effective guidance when it's most needed.

Wisdom App

The Wisdom app provides a wide range of proactive wellbeing tools and engaging features. It is designed to support your mental wellbeing with mood trackers, articles and helpful videos.

It's also designed to improve physical wellbeing and encourage a healthy lifestyle. With the mini health checks, and four-week programs you can sleep better, cope with pressure and become more mindful.

Health Assured provides around the clock support. Wisdom is accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days a year so you can talk to the counselling team at any time via the live chat.
