Mental health first aiders

Our mental health first aiders are a team of trained colleagues who can provide reassurance and help to guide you to the support you need.

They also have the skills to be able to spot someone who may be developing a mental health issue and intervene before it escalates.

Mental health first aiders are not counsellors and cannot diagnose conditions or provide ongoing support.

If you feel like you need some support and guidance.

To use our confidential service email : mhfa.network@derbyshire.gov.uk (monitored Monday to Friday) or text 07866 828523 (not monitored 24 hours per day).

When contacting please include:

  • best time and day to be contacted
  • best contact method
  • department, if you wish
  • reason to speak to a mental health first aider (so we can assign you the most suitable mental health first aider)

If you require immediate medical assistance please tel: 999.
