Appointments are usually made to the bottom pay point within each grade with an annual increase on the anniversary of the appointment until reaching the top of the pay points for that grade, provided continuous service has been maintained.
Appointment to a job with us is usually to a particular grade within the relevant pay scale.
The grade and relevant salary scale for a particular job will be displayed on the job advert or accompanying job specification.
Council pay scales for local government service appointments are subject to national employers pay negotiations. National pay agreements will be reflected in the council's pay scales following agreement with trade unions.
Schools employees appointed by the governing body will receive the locally agreed rate of pay.
Employees appointed on the Soulbury Scales will be paid on the Soulbury pay scale.
