Our main focus as a team is to develop our leaders across the council so that they have the skills to engage, motivate and lead their teams to high performance. To enable this to happen we are leading on, and involved in, a number of different projects and key initiatives which include:
- designing, developing, and commissioning a leadership development programme which will be made available for all of our leaders across the council
- developing our performance management framework to support the development of a high performing culture
- leadership apprenticeships
- developing a blended approach to leadership skills training to support policies such as absence management
- the development needs of our elected members

Leadership apprenticeships
We offer leadership apprenticeships in partnership with the University of Derby and Derbyshire Adult Community Education (DACES) to support our leaders and managers as we move forward.
These apprenticeships are run on a cohort basis.
